Why Order Early?

You've just gotten engaged and you have months and months until you say "I do". So what's the hurry with ordering?

What many brides often don't realize is the time line involved with each part of your bridal ensemble. Bridal gowns can take up to 5 months if you are ordering and of course once the gown arrives you will need time to schedule several fittings. Most gowns require 2-3 fittings and the seamstress often needs several weeks to make adjustments. Planning a bridal portrait? Your photographer will most likely ask to set up a bridal portrait several months before the wedding to make time for a portrait to be displayed at your reception.

When you start to put all these things together, you begin to realize that what seemed like "plenty of time" turned into "just the right amount of time". :)

Of course, close weddings are always doable! Our designers offer custom deliveries to accommodate quickly approaching wedding dates.

Now what about your accessories? You will want to have your shoes and undergarments ready for your fitting so you'll want to have chosen those in advance. Those typically take 2-3 weeks to arrive. You'll also want to allow plenty of time for your veil, headpiece, and any jewelry to arrive for your bridal portrait. You can expect those to take from 3-8 weeks.

All that information can seem like a long list of "to-do's", but our staff makes it easy for you. We make sure you are right on schedule and that everything is on track for you day!

P.S. Love the gown and shoes in this picture? So do we! Come in store to see!

Its that time again!

We are gearing up for another Bridal Show with Augusta Wedding Specialists.  This is such a great opportunity for couples to meet and talk with Augusta's most reputable wedding vendors.  The atmosphere is relaxed, so rather than running from table to table, you will have an opportunity to meet with each vendor and really get to know the people who will be handling the details of your big day!

And as always, Elegant Bridals will be putting on a fashion show of the latest styles!

Join us, Sunday August 24th, from 1-4p.m.  Fashion show begins at 2:30.  Hope to see you there!

Dye Lot Dilemma

When it comes to ordering bridesmaids, dye lots matter.  Because many of your girls are scattered from state to state, it can seem that the easiest option for ordering bridesmaids, would be to let each girl order at a local store.  However, when a bridesmaid order is placed, each dress must be ordered together, from the same store, to ensure the dye lots match.  Otherwise, the dresses may arrive in two variations of your chosen color.  While this is  noticeable to the naked eye, it shows up even more in photographs.

We realize it can be a chore to get all of your out of town bridesmaids measurements together, so we've simplified things.  Our website offers a simple online form where your girl can submit their measurements and view a size chart for the dress they are ordering.  And of course we are happy to help in selecting a size for the best fit.  Paying is simple too--payments can be mailed or taken over the phone.  While we do offer shipping, many times brides hand deliver the dresses at showers and other wedding events.

From time to time questions come up in the store that we know all of our brides can benefit from.  Check back often for other helpful hints!
